She Sucks On Your Heart, Like a Ringpop…

…from the bowels of your youth. Picked up from under the clutter ridden floor of your bed frame, shed hair glazed to the fault lines of the candy facets. Your knee is a mosaic of stones, and your chest a gaping wound from the destruction of five delicately effective, ruby lacquered talons. She places one heart shaped kiss upon your shock smoothed forehead, and one palm around the glinting offering. Like all terrible Goddesses the tribute is taken, but you are given no reward beyond the acidic saliva left behind from the press of her lips. Even her lipstick walks away from you. Overheard the squeals of children mingle in the air with the carnival sounds of circus music and the whir of cotton candy machines. The horses are bobbing. The horses are galloping. The horses are laughing. Laughing at you, the fool of Halloween.

Curly Mesh Hair!

Give us more, designers, and we shall buy it all! Oh how I mourn when a new, gorgeous, mesh hair comes out and it has not the least bit of curl or kink. I eagerly buy up all the mesh hair I can, because it is well done and lustrous, chic or playful, casual or couture. There are so many styles of straight, and even wavy, mesh to choose from, but the curly department is sorely lacking. Well a few days ago I went to Analog Dog (my go to shop for all things curly), and nearly wept with joy.

There on the ‘New’ wall was a curly hair. Not just any curly hair, a sexy, edgy, but still casual and tasteful hair. It was MESH. I was afraid to look, but when I peeked, yes, it said mesh. Oh, how I held my little size 10 hands to my chest and squeed with delight. I then promptly bought it, took it home, and snapped some pics. Here it is everyone, Sage.

They are worth every penny, and mean so much to the children who desperately need help.

Silk in the Rain

The bumpy road rattles your hubcaps as you drive on through the rainy night. Finally you spot a small, coastal town that overlooks a harbor. The radio hisses, and you click it off with a sigh. You are safe, and your grip loosens on the leather bound wheel. Screeching to a halt, your tires spin in the water, your eyes unable to decide if they should rest on the looming, dripping wet …you would say he was a man but all-in-all you are not entirely sure, or the road. He lunges for your door with a slimy looking appendage, and nearly soaks your silk sleeve as you grind the pedal into the floor, the clutch squealing.

Looking from sidewalk-to-sidewalk, you are searching for anyone who you can tell your story to, who might be able to reassure you that it was all in your head, but you see nothing. The town looks deserted and broken. Your tire pops, and your car teeters on the edge of a broken out sewer line. You want to scream, but you stumble instead, heels clacking, to a restaurant up the alley. You clasp onto the brooch that hangs around your neck, the one your grandmother gave you, and pushed the doors open with a great gust of wind. Tears hit your cheeks. You brush them away with a grateful smile as you head to the telephone booth in the back. As you place one foot through the door you freeze, the black cord is swinging, weighed down by the heavy, black receiver. Tentatively you pick it up and gingerly place it against your ear. There is no sound. “Hello?” , you ask. Nothing in reply. Suddenly a voice crackles out through the line, “Hello darling, don’t you look fabulous.” The lights go out.
